Why does your dog bark and what can you do about it?

Boredom: Try leaving a fresh marrow bone for your dog when you go out.

Separation Anxiety:  Start by leaving your dog alone in another room while you are still at home. Do this for short periods to start with and then slowly increase the time.

Dominance / Territorial:  Training is needed to show the dog that the house and garden belong to you and not them.

Other Triggers:  Identify sounds and events which cause your dog to bark. This is one of the more complex reasons and training should be sought.

Dogs continuously barking can cause a great deal of stress for you and neighbours, it needs to be treated.
